Facebook Mobile Traffic Is Destroying Your Optins

sounds OTT right? Well, actually – maybe not.

I’ve been talking with Martin Crumlish – and he’s revealed a pretty nasty little fact to me.

The standard way of getting opt-ins directly in Facebook doesn’t work on a huge majority of mobile devices.

He estimates that around 40% of traffic is mobile – but from my own test I disagree… I think it’s closer to 60% – because marketers are ahead of the curve and won’t be average in mobile usage.

You could take people outside of Facebook  – but that costs more if you are using paid advertising. If you are using free or paid options in Facebook – you want to keep your optin forms inside Facebook as you will get much higher optins.
The theory is sound – but in practise, mobile traffic on Facebook is around 40% to 60%…
And NONE of those tab optin systems that run within Facebook work.
